We groomed skate lanes and classic tracks on Driving Range and teaching grids; re-set tracks and groomed perimeter loop on Driving Range. We made a single pass of skate lanes on Yellow and Purple trails. Classic tracks on these trails are still well defined but icy.
Foothills Nordic is hosting the first ever Alberta Cup race at Confederation Park this weekend (Jan 11/12, 2025). We are expecting over 400 athletes from across Western Canada to be ski racing this weekend! The races will go from 9:00am to 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The main parking lot will be closed for priority parking and wax tents during these times. The races will take place on the West trails (Blue, Green and Orange Loops) and the Driving range and those trails will be generally be closed. The Yellow and Purple loops will still be open for skiing and for athletes to warm up. You can park at St. Francis high school and access the Yellow and Purple trails through the gate at 31st Ave as we will groom a temporary trail. Parking is also available along 19th St, West Confederation Park and the Pebble Parking lot.
