Good Morning skiers! It's 8 a.m. and -16 degrees under clear skies.

The ski trails were groomed by Snowcat last night and are looking beautiful this morning with soft packed conditions. There is an arctic outflow warning still in effect, so please dress warmly and cover exposed skin as it's -16 to start the day. There was a break in a water main down by Nicklaus North parking lot a few days ago which has left a big water ditch in the middle of the multi-use trail by the Nicklaus North condos adjacent to the railroad tracks. This section is currently closed until the water stops flowing and we are able to hopefully do some repairs. Parking in the main lot is still accessible but use care or avoid the icy section that is marked with flags. Nicklaus North ski trails are open; skiing is marginal along the first section of bearberry due to the low snowpack and debris from the wind this week, but nice once you get out back. The Cheryl Morningstar Lost Lake Loppet is next Sunday, February 16, running from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with an Après and social afterwards at the PassivHaus. It will be an open course format, so the entire Nordic Ski Area will still be open but expect to see some racers on select trails. The snowshoe trails are looking lovely with the new snow. You may enter the park at either entrance to purchase your pass. The PassivHaus Daylodge is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. offering rentals and tickets, and food & beverages at the cafe (until 3 p.m.). The Nicklaus North entrance has free parking at the clubhouse and a portable washroom by the entrance.
Hope to see you on the trails!

There was a break in a water main down by Nicklaus North parking lot, so there are some icy sections near the road/multi-use trail, and a large section of the multi-use trail that is dirty ice. Parking in the main lot is still accessible but use care or avoid the icy section that is marked with flags.
