March 17 Update: We only got a couple of inches of snow between last Friday and Monday (Mar 13-16) and it was all undone by rain on Monday evening. The trails are heavily deteriorated. With the warm temps the rest of this week, they will become more so as the days go on.
Please note that even though winter trails are pretty much kaput, we are a long way from opening summer single-track trails. Crosscut's neck of the woods can take a long time to dry out after winter. Crosscut's single-track trails dry out later than other nearby trails. There are numerous wetlands across Crosscut's property. Some of the same attributes that make it a good place for cross-country skiing result in wet and muddy conditions persisting long into the spring and summer compared to nearby trails. Trails in the valley are no comparison — it’s a completely different ecosystem and the two can't be compared when considering spring and summer trail conditions.

March 13 Report: This winter has been challenging, to say the least. With the current state of the trails and the forecast ahead, the Nordic & Trail Center is now closed for the season. This means Crosscut is closed to the public and open only to season pass holders for postseason visits. Trail access is limited to season pass holders only — please respect this closure.
______
Postseason skiing for season pass holders is open, and as is customary during postseason access, dogs are allowed on the trails without day or time restrictions. However, please be aware that the trails currently have numerous hazards. Conditions include a mix of ice, crusty snow, bare dirt, and debris-covered snow.
Only pass holders who are very confident in their abilities should be on the trails.
Skiing, fatbiking and snowshoeing is at each pass holder’s own risk. There are no support services available, including incident response and emergency evacuation.
______
We have not been able to groom any trails since March 8th.
A small selection of wide ski trails may be groomed on Sunday morning IF three or more inches of snow falls between now and then. In that case, grooming would be limited to a handful of trails where grooming equipment can safely operate — this would not include Logger’s due to numerous patches of ice and bare ground.
Grooming operations have concluded for the season on Narrow Gauge trails. Pass holders may still fatbike and snowshoe on these trails. Please be aware that numerous bare patches and icy sections are present.
