January 15th Grooming Report

BB Gun Biathlon, Nordic Jump Rope, and Simple Nordic Fun!

Thanks to Coach Libby (Devos) for sending in some great pictures from yesterday’s practice session.  There was a lot going on with rope jumping, bb gun adventures, and just having a great time Nordic skiing!

You too could have a great time Nordic skiing if you head out to Trail Creek today.  It has been an interesting morning weather-wise, with a pretty stubborn inversion still hanging in there as of report time.  The temperature of 16º is actually pretty pleasant and there have been glimpses of a glorious blue sky peeking through, it just hasn’t dominated the trails yet today.

Today’s grooming was a bit limited.  Yesterday all the far woods received extensive Husky grooming and should still be skiing nicely today.  Woolsey Woods and the minor fence line trail got a serious Ginzu workout today and are quite nice.  The Close Field classic tracks are all nice and the skate lanes got a complete rework with the Husky today and are looking beautiful.

Of note today; there was a recent article in the New York Times about Nordic skiing in Jackson Hole which mentioned our very own Trail Creek.  You can check it out at this NY Times subscription link or on this google drive link.

Groomer’s choice for today is to give Woolsey Woods a shot.
